Well, we have aqrrived in Chengdu!
The flight started for us at 11 am Saturday. We arrived in Chengdu at 8 pm on Sunday. The total flight time was approx. 15hours. Wow.
Not smoking for 15 hours is annoying. Ken, my little brother, gave me some nicorette gum for the flight. I think it helped, but I did feel a bit sick.
Now that we have arrived I bought a pack of Chinese cigarettes, Pride is the brand. I also had to buy a lighter as the flight to Chendu required me to throw away all lighters on my person. Oh, well.
It is 11:35 at night. We have returned from a brief walkabout in a very very interesting market. Yes, there are photos but I won't upload tonite as I am tired.
Paema has gone to bed as she is very tired; really happy, but tired.
On our flights we were served a total of 3 meals (lunch, supper, then supper again!). As these were on Air China, they were Chinese meals with a western slant.
My first meal was Chicken and rice with a grilled baby bok choy, a bun with butter, salad, a fruit cup and yogurt for dessert.
The second meal was pork and rice, with pretty much the same sides.
I did not have the 3rd meal as I was not hungry.
We found the Starbucks, so tomorrow morning I will go in and order a "venti chai latte, 7 pump, no water". I will let y'all know what happens!
That is all for tonite.
Anyone who wants to comment (nicely) or ask questions, just login with your name and email. Ken is that correct? (He's my remote web dude during the trip)
Oh, ya. We are staying at Holly's Hostel in Chengdu. That is where I am making this entry. Although the menus and everything on the computers is in Chinese, it's all in the same place, so no trouble there. The connection was a little slow initially, in connecting to my server, but otherwise the 'net seems the same (but with more Chinese).
I am so pumped!!!! I AM IN CHINA!!!!!!!!!WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FYI: one of the first things I learned to cook as a boy (I think I was in grade 4) was rice 'cuz rice is tasty and China was very interesting!
Well, my brain is starting to ...drift... so good night all!!
